You can re-key your lock in 3 easy steps, and there is no need to worry about lost or loaned keys. This improved key control, combined with patented locking sidebar BumpGuard protection, means superior security and convenience.
A great complement to any Kwikset knob, lever or handleset, SmartCode is easy to install, program and use, and it operates on four AA batteries. It's recommended for double bored doors and used in place of a traditional deadbolt, and it's ideal for use with front doors, garage doors, side doors, and back doors. This version comes in a satin chrome finish.
With the SmartCode, you'll get one-touch locking with a motorized deadbolt. It offers two customizable access codes--one code for the family, one code for temporary access--and the SmartCode deadbolt will automatically lock your door after 30 seconds for increased peace of mind. It's easy to operate: to lock, press the lock button just once and to open, just enter the code on the keypad and the deadbolt will automatically retract.
The SmartCode fits standard doors (1-3/8 inches to 2 inches thick), and it installs in minutes with just a screwdriver. The unit also comes with a backup keyway in case the batteries die or you forget your code, allowing the deadbolt to function like any ordinary deadbolt. A low-battery indicator light will warn you when your batteries run low.
SmartKey Technology
SmartKey locks provide you the flexibility to re-key your locks quickly and easily without removing them from your door. And you can re-key a SmartKey lock as frequently as you wish while maintaining the highest level of security. Featuring a patented side-locking bar technology, the SmartKey lock can be rapidly re-keyed in the event a key is lost or stolen or if you've recently moved. Re-keying also allows homeowners the flexibility to match all Kwikset keyed entries to one key for added convenience and security.
This stainless steel side-locking bar also replaces the traditional pin and tumbler design that is particularly vulnerable to lock bumping attacks. The cylinder uses two steel balls inserted into the front of the key face to provide improved drill resistance.
Warranty
This product comes with a lifetime mechanical and finish warranty to the original residential user of Kwikset against defects in material and workmanship as long as the original user occupies the residential premises upon which the product was originally installed. This warranty does not cover scratches; abrasions; deterioration due to the use of paints, solvents or other chemicals; abuse; misuse; or product(s) used in commercial applications. The SmartCode is also backed by a 1-year warranty on electronic parts.
